Podcasting Club Highlight
If you're like most of us, you're a solver. Except, we often forget that our relationship with our children, and people in general, is usually not about solving things for them. That's why we love this episode so much. It is a great lesson and reminder that our roles as parents/leaders/friends/family is really simple: empathy. Check out How To Talk To Kids About Anything: December 17, 2019 Episode - How to Listen and Effectively Communicate with Children.
How I Built This
Guy Raz interviews the Founders of some of the most well-known companies in the world. You’ll be intrigued, amazed and a tiny bit frightened by their journeys to get to where they are today. Guy is a classic interviewer, and you can never go wrong with an NPR produced show!
One of my all time favorites where you’ll learn and be entertained at the same time. Be sure to start from Season 1, where you’ll likely fall in love with Alex Blumberg (former producer of This American Life), when he pursues his vision of starting a Podcast network with guts, authenticity and charming imperfection.
The self proclaimed - “Like Shark Tank, only on a podcast.” Hear founders pitch their business to a panel of investors. The highly authentic, not over-produced environment makes you feel like you’re a fly on the wall. You’ll love to hear the great pitches and you’ll cringe (and take notes) on the bad ones as well.
Online Marketing Made Easy
This is a great podcast for those of you looking to start or grow and online business. Amy Porterfield hosts and leverages her many years in business for herself and working for Tony Robbins. I find her episodes to be easy to understand and extremely helpful. Everything from social media techniques to content strategy to how to make a podcast!
Podcasts can change your life. They provide on-demand, bite-sized information in a format that allows us to listen during the few, rare, "free" moments in our lives. In the car. Or while walking. Or running. Or strolling around the grocery store.
That's why we started this "club". Podcasts transformed us.
So we just had to share our favorites with all of you.
The opening to this podcast alone will make you do a fist bump to the air. Sophia Amoruso and her compadres at Girlboss Media are out to redefine success. Sophia interviews a wide array of highly inspiring women that have done things their own way and have redefined their own success. Sophia also shares her own trials, tribulations and insights as she has reinvented herself and her company (more than once).
She Did It Her Way
A podcast dedicated to helping women launch a business that allows them to have more freedom in their lives while also helping others and making money at the same time. Amanda Boleyn hosts the show and is a tremendous interviewer and coach, pulling out the best insights and magic that her guests can bring to her listeners.
The Life Coach School Podcast
Brooke Castillo shares a bit of her badass self in this great general coaching podcast. She is so relatable, you’ll feel like you’re hanging out with a friend. She coaches you what feel like basic concepts in such a “wow” way. This is a great podcast for those of you that feel like starting at “ground zero” is needed as you look to grow and transform.
Rachel Hollis knows authenticity all too well. She has been bringing energy, inspiration and confidence to millions through her books, YouTube videos and now a podcast as well. We love her easy-going style and her passion for helping others reach their highest selves. If you like Rise, you can also check out Rise Together, which is another podcast that she hosts alongside her husband, Dave Hollis.
TED Radio Hour & TED Talks Business
If you’ve always loved TED Talks but don’t always have the time to watch them, this podcast is for you! I promise you’ll get nearly the same experience and can cram in a bunch while you’re commuting. If you’ve never heard of TED Talks - start listening now. These are the best of the best storytellers and presenters. Maybe someday maybe I’ll get there…
Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations
Ahhh, it’s Oprah. Yes, she is still out there and inspiring strong. In one of the couple of podcasts she has, she dives deep into inspiration, spirituality and all things that make you go “hmmm”. She of course gets the BEST people on and takes the conversations to unexpected places
Nick J. Murphy has put together a killer podcast, Transform U (formerly called The Job Lab Podcast) focused on helping people get where they want to be in their life, business or career. Nick is a masterful interviewer who pulls together a great "cast of characters" every week that will leave you pumped up and ready to be and do more.
Keep podcasting my friends!
